Pink Flamingos Fan Art

This Pride Month, I spent time reflecting on trans visibility—especially in light of recent legislative attacks in the U.S. As an artist, I feel a deep responsibility to uplift and celebrate diversity through my work.
I chose Pink Flamingos for my first fan art not only because of its bold aesthetic, but because of its cultural weight. John Waters’ 1972 cult film was deemed transgressive for its unapologetic portrayal of queerness—often seen as grotesque or immoral by mainstream society. It challenged how trans and queer people were vilified and misunderstood, and in many ways, still does.
While progress has been made, we are also witnessing steps backward. This piece is dedicated to the trans community, whose presence has always been essential to the queer movement. The “T” is not optional—it’s inseparable.
